Master's research
Alexandra's Master's research explores the musical traditions of south-western Romania during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with the aim of bringing this largely unexplored repertoire into the classical guitar tradition through new arrangements and compositions.
The work sits between performance practice and composition: what survives in written and oral sources is read closely, then rebuilt for an instrument that was never part of that world.

Archival study
Locating and reading seventeenth- and eighteenth-century sources from south-western Romania, much of which has never entered the concert repertoire.

Arrangement
Transferring modal melodies and dance rhythms to the classical guitar, testing what the instrument can idiomatically carry.

New composition
Writing original works that grow out of the same material rather than quoting it, so the tradition continues instead of being preserved under glass.
Teaching
Alexandra teaches classical guitar to students of all ages and has a lasting interest in teaching, literature, music promotion and contemporary music. Her long-term ambition is to combine an international performing and composing career with her own music school.
